Extra Curricula Learning
Sport
All classes participate in daily fitness programs which are an important part of the school curriculum. All classes partake in the school's Physical Education program. The R - 3 classes are supported by a specialist PE teacher.
Children represent the school in miniball, teeball, cricket, football, soccer and netball competitions held out of school hours. These sports follow modified rules and no "finals" games are played. Here are the fixtures for after school sports.
In addition, children have the opportunity to represent the school in regional one-day competitions in swimming, cross-country, netball, touch football and athletics.
This varied sports program is possible because of the support and active participation of parents as coaches, managers, supervisors and transporters.
The Arts
Stella Maris has a strong focus on The Arts. All students are actively involved in a weekly Performing Arts lesson with a specialist teacher. Not only do students learn about Music and Drama in these lessons and a love and passion for the Arts is developed, but it also has a focus on developing confidence, risk taking, collaborative skills and more through a performance skills focus.
Music
Stella Maris offers violin, guitar, piano and singing lessons at school during school hours.
